MARTYN ROBERT CRUSE BA(Econ), FCA

Martyn Cruse is 62 and has been married to Ros for 35 years.  They moved to Portishead in 1971 and have lived here ever since.

 They have two grown up daughters, Emma and Kathryn, and a Border Terrier called Edge.

Martyn practised as a Chartered Accountant in the High Street and as the Local Agent of the Bradford & Bingley Building Society until his retirement.

Since his retirement he can often be seen carrying his rather tatty blue Globe-Trotter case around the Village, not peddling brushes, but carrying documents relating to his charitable work.

A countryman at heart, his relaxation is found in the countryside, whether by the side of a river, or on the hills and moors.  He can also be seen struggling on his allotment at North Weston where he harvests onions and potatoes.

Alan works for Airbus UK at Filton where he is employed as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In his 25 years with the company he has held numerous positions and is currently using his experience in supporting the Procurement function. He served his apprenticeship as a Toolmaker with the former Bristol Aeroplane Company.

He is interested in all Sport and represented Bristol Rugby Club at Colts and United levels. Before his playing retirement he represented Gordano Rugby Club. These days however, Alan unwinds with a regular game of skittles in the Portishead and Clarence House leagues. He is currently the secretary of the Albion team.

Alan was elected to the Town Council in 2003 and has been appointed to serve on the Recreation and Works and the Bristol Road Playing Field Management Committees
