Portishead's history dates back to Roman times, its name deriving from the 'port at the head of the river'.
Located just off Junction 19 of the M5 motorway, Portishead is a thriving town with an outdoor swimming pool, marina, shops, restaurants and many lovely places to walk, including the lake grounds.
With a population of approximately 27,000, Portishead is the second largest town in North Somerset.
